PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Portsmouth police announced on Thursday that on Tuesday, they took 27-year-old Jamel Raiquon Jones into custody for his connection to the Oct. 20 homicide of Danyelle Akoya Lee on Jefferson Street.
He was considered an armed and dangerous suspect on Oct. 28. Their first suspect, 19-year-old Torian Jamari Sexton, has been in custody since Oct. 22.
The shooting that killed Lee was one of two that occurred that night in Portsmouth, and two others were injured that night. Lee had walked into a local hospital for treatment after being shot but later succumbed to his injuries.
Jones is being held in custody without bond.
