Crews respond to house fire in Suffolk

Fortunately, no one was injured. It took firefighters 13 minutes to bring the fire under control.

SUFFOLK, Va. — Residents of a home in Suffolk, Virginia are safe and able to return home after their garage caught fire on Tuesday.

At 5:20 p.m., Suffolk Fire and Rescue crews responded to a reported structure fire on Livingston Street in Suffolk. Once there, crews saw flames coming from the garage area attached to the home. A search of the home revealed all the occupants had gotten out safely before the flames overtook the garage. Just 13 minutes later, the fire was brought under control.

The residents of the home were not displaced as a result of the fire. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Investigators with the Fire Marshal’s Office are working to determine what started the fire. 

So far, there is no word on the estimated cost of damages. 

First responders were able to take pictures of the flames they saw. Those photos can be seen below.
