House fire under investigation in Norfolk

The home on Hale Street caught fire around 11:30 p.m.

Three people in Norfolk are out of their home after a late-night fire. Around 11:30 p.m. Saturday night, Norfolk Fire-Rescue crews went to a home on Hale Street near Lindenwood Avenue. Firefighters arrived at a two-story house and discovered the home's back porch was on fire. The flames spread from the porch to the second floor of the building.

Firefighters quickly got to work using hoses to put out the fire, and officials say the flames were under control by midnight. According to the battalion chief, the fire mostly damaged the exterior of the house.

We're told everyone involved is okay, with no injuries to firefighters or civilians. The Red Cross is ready to help three people affected by the fire. Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
