Fire at a Norfolk boarding house leaves several displaced

A Norfolk fire Saturday afternoon is the second in the city in one day.

NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk's Fire-Rescue department reported their second fire this afternoon authorities say.

The call came at around 2 p.m. in the 600 block of 36th Street.

When the crews arrived, there was smoke coming from the basement of the residence which serves as a boarding house.

Several space heaters have been determined as the cause of the fire, which was quickly brought under control by firefighters.

The number of displaced residents is unknown at this time. No residents or firefighters were injured.
