A man is in custody after he barricaded himself in a home early Saturday morning, Newport News police said.
Police went to the 100 block of Cedar Avenue around 2:57 a.m. to serve a warrant in connection with a domestic incident.
Officials said Nathan Anderson, 35, barricaded himself inside the home.
Tactical Operations Unit immediately responded to the scene.
Anderson was taken into custody around 5:22 a.m.
He is charged with one count each: possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, discharging a firearm within city limits, reckless handling of a firearm, and destruction of property.
