Argument leads to shooting at Hampton business, police say

HAMPTON, Va. — A man was shot at a Hampton restaurant, Goody's Deli & Pub, after an argument broke out overnight on Sunday, police said.

The investigation began around 1:40 a.m. Sunday when Hampton dispatchers got a report of gunshots heard in the 1st block of East Queens Way, according to the Hampton Police Division.

After police officers got there, they found a man with a gunshot wound by the back door of the business.

Investigators believe the shooting happened while the victim and the suspect were arguing. Police said the suspect ran off after the shooting.

Medics took the victim to a hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
