VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A long-awaited wish comes true!
The son of two Navy service members, 5-year-old EJ McNeal was diagnosed with kidney disease and had a transplant all before his second birthday.
His family signed up for Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia, but it was delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, more than three years later, EJ's dream to have a puppy has become a reality.
Thanks to a grant from the Chartway Promise Foundation, EJ on Tuesday met Boogie the Bulldog.
