NORFOLK, Va. — Dare County remains under a severe thunderstorm watch, while all other severe weather warnings for southeastern Virginia and much of North Carolina have expired Monday afternoon.
The severe thunderstorm watch for Dare County is set to expire at 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Shortly before 3:15 p.m., the NWS announced Hampton Roads and the most northeastern cities in North Carolina were no longer at risk of severe weather. Officials said rain is still possible, however.
The announcement comes shortly after the NWS had issued a severe thunderstorm warning for central Bertie County in North Carolina.
