NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk's Keyshawn Davis, like his older brother Kelvin, is back in the ring on Saturday night. The younger Davis has a fight against fellow lightweight Miguel Madueno from Newark, New Jersey.
The former Granby Comet (10-0, 7 KOs) and Madueno (31-2, 28 KOs) will face off in a 10-round bout. Davis doesn't know much about the 26-year-old, but for him it's about what he does that will get him a win.
"Every fighter I fight, they're going to come to fight," he said. "They're going to come to fight because it was a great opportunity. This is his first time on the big stage like this."
It will air on ESPN on Saturday night.
Davis will have the support too. Sixty fans from Norfolk will hop on a bus and head to "Brick City" to catch the fight. He also said there will be relatives from Long Island, New York in attendance.
"I'm excited about it. I'm excited for the people up there", he said. "The kids will get that kind of experience and that builds up for the homecoming as well so everything about the fight and that trip for those people on the buses, it's going to be exciting for them."
Nicknamed "The Businessman", Keyshawn and his brother Kelvin are part of the undercard for Shakur Stevenson. It's scheduled to start on ESPN at 8:30 p.m.
