NORFOLK, Va. — Virginia voters chose Vice President Kamala Harris over President-elect Donald Trump at the polls on Tuesday. Here's the county-by-county breakdown of how the presidential candidates fared in the race for Virginia's 13 electoral votes.
The two sides have been roughly equal in political ad spending across the state. From all funding sources, ads that were pro-Trump or anti-Harris totaled $794,566 in Virginia this year, compared to $789,526 that was pro-Harris or anti-Trump, according to the Virginia Public Access Project.
Most of the votes for Harris came from Northern Virginia and the Hampton Roads region, as well as the suburbs surrounding Virginia's capital city of Richmond. Joe Biden had won the state by a wider margin in 2020, but it appears every single one of Virginia's cities and counties voted the same way in 2024 that it did in 2020.
