NORFOLK, Va. — Election Day is Nov. 5 and residents of the Commonwealth and the Tar Heel state need to keep in mind some important voting deadlines.
Virginia Voters:
The first day of in-person early voting is Sept. 20.
The voter registration deadline is Oct. 15.
The mail-in ballot application deadline is Oct. 25 at 5 p.m.
North Carolina Voters:
Absentee ballots are set to be mailed out Friday, Sept. 6 at noon to all those who requested them.
A Wake County Superior Court issued a pause on sending out absentee ballots until then to allow Robert F. Kennedy Jr. an opportunity to appeal the court's decision to keep his name from North Carolina ballots instead of removing it and reprinting ballots without his name.
The voter registration deadline is Oct. 11.
The first day of in-person early voting is Oct. 17.
The last day of in-person early voting nationwide is Nov. 2 at 5 p.m.
