VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A 77-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle in Virginia Beach Friday, authorities confirmed.
The crash happened in the area of Lynnhaven Parkway and Lamplight Lane. It's unclear what led up to the incident.
The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) says officers responded to the 1100 block of Lynnhaven Parkway around 7:40 p.m.
The victim was identified as Lucena Lynch.

This is the latest of bad crashes occurring on Lynnhaven Parkway recently.
In February, a 23-year-old bicyclist was hit and killed at the intersection of Lynnhaven Parkway and Princess Anne Road.
Then, in March, a woman was left in critical condition when she was hit by a car on the busy stretch of Lynnhaven between Primrose Lane and Holland Road. A neighbor at the time told 13News Now that drivers "fly" down that stretch of road.
