VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The bear is back.
Or perhaps, one of its bear friends is back.
One week after a black bear was spotted in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach, a new video posted online shows a black bear in that same area of town.
A Ring camera in someone's backyard captured the bear Monday afternoon. The poster said the bear was spotted in the Framingham section of College Park.
The sightings have Reddit abuzz.
One user writes "bro has been on a mission lately."
Another says, "bears will bear. Be safe out there."
The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources says black bears tend to be shy of people, but say it's good to be "bear aware."
"Never run from a bear, don't approach a bear, just quietly back away and leave the area. However, if a bear does approach you, make yourself look big, make loud noises, clap your hands and continue to back away," Virginia DWR explained in a PSA posted to YouTube.
The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources said the bears are coming out of hibernation and are looking for food.
On Monday, a woman in Virginia Beach snapped a picture of a bear hanging around her window.
The Department of Wildlife Resources District Biologist Pete Ackers says the bears residents have recently spotted are adolescents.
"Male cubs are getting kicked out of the nest right now by their mothers. You can think of them as the dumb teenager who's out on it's own for the first time. They may not make the best decisions and they end of up places they probably shouldn't end up," said Ackers.
Bear sightings are common throughout much of Virginia.
Virginia DWR states the best way to encourage a bear not to return to your home is to remove the food source. If a bear accesses a birdfeeder in your yard, remove the birdfeeder for three to four weeks after the bear visits.
