NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk Councilwoman Danica Royster announced on Tuesday that she will not be running for re-election this November.

According to her announcement, Royster, who represents Superward 7 including Lamberts Point, Campostella, Easton, Titustown and much more, says she will not be seeking another term due to "focus[ing] on her professional growth and dedicate more time to her financial services business."

In the announcement, she says she has spearheaded violence intervention and prevention, community improvements, economic development and fostering community collaborations during her time as councilwoman.

She also said she was grateful to the residents of Norfolk, Mayor Kenny Alexander, her council colleagues, civic leagues, stakeholders and grassroots organizations for their support.
