Norfolk Councilmember Andria McClellan not running for re-election in November 2024

McClellan, the councilmember for Superward 6, said "It is with a profound sense of gratitude and a heavy heart that I announce my decision not to seek reelection."

NORFOLK, Va. — Andria McClellan announced on Tuesday that she will not be running for re-election to Norfolk City Council in November 2024. 

McClellan has served as a Norfolk City Councilmember since 2016 and leads Superward 6 which covers large areas of Norfolk including Oceanview, Ghent, and Lamberts Point. 

She opened the announcement by saying "It is with a profound sense of gratitude and a heavy heart that I announce my decision not to seek reelection in November 2024."

She also says that after her term ends will continue "to serve on various boards, advocating for solutions to mitigate flooding and enhancing civic discourse... most of all, I am eager to spend more time with my family, now spread across the country."
