NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A teenager who was seriously injured in a shooting last Tuesday has succumbed to his injuries, Newport News police said.
The juvenile was rushed to a hospital after being shot in Newport News on the evening of February 27, a spokesperson for the Newport News Police Department (NNPD) confirmed.
Newport News police say they responded to a reported shooting on Youngs Mill Lane, just off Warwick Boulevard around 5 p.m. When officers arrived they found the juvenile with a life-threatening gunshot wound.
The 14-year-old passed away on Friday just before midnight.
At this time, there's no word on a suspect or what led up to the shooting.
