NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A teenager was rushed to a hospital after being shot in Newport News Tuesday evening, a spokesperson for the Newport News Police Department (NNPD) confirmed.
Just before 5 p.m. Newport News police responded to a reported shooting on Youngs Mill Lane, just off Warwick Boulevard.
Officers found a teenager suffering from at least one gunshot wound that is considered life-threatening.
Police have not released the age of the victim.
At this time, there's no word on a suspect or what led up to the shooting.
