Goats on I-64 in Chesapeake rescued by state police, animal control

VSP officials wrote that Chesapeake Animal Control helped rectify the situation with the goats' safe return home.

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — It's not something you see every day: Virginia State Police (VSP) found themselves dealing with "baaaa-d" behavior with a trip of goats on the side of Interstate 64 in Chesapeake.

With no shortage of puns, the law enforcement agency posted on social media about the situation Wednesday evening but didn't specify what led to the goats getting loose.

"#VSP doesn't 'kid' around when it comes to protecting wayward travelers on I-64 in Chesapeake," VSP wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). "Why did the goats sneak around the wall near their farm? To see what was on the other side!"

VSP officials wrote that Chesapeake Animal Control helped rectify the situation with the goats' safe return home after they somehow got loose from their property on the other side of the sound barrier wall.
