HAMPTON, Va. — Two weeks after a woman was shot in Hampton, authorities announced a 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection to the Feb. 6 incident and a separate homicide that happened about a month earlier.
In a release on Tuesday, the Hampton Police Division (HPD) said a 16-year-old, who has not been publicly identified, is facing several charges, including first-degree murder, aggravated malicious wounding and strangulation.
The murder charge stems from a deadly shooting that happened on Jan. 8, according to HPD.
Nearly a month later, on Feb. 6, police say the suspect followed a 33-year-old woman driving before shooting at her multiple times near the corner of South Armistead Avenue and West Queen Street. The woman was rushed to a hospital for treatment of wounds not considered life-threatening.
Police have not said what led up to either shooting or if the suspect knew either victim.
