VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — On Sept. 30, just before 10 a.m., the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) were alerted by their gunshot detection system that shots had been fired in the 600 block of Fox Creek Court.
When they arrived, they discovered Keshawn Woodhouse, 20, of Virginia Beach, suffering from gunshot wounds. He later was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Shortly after, Virginia Beach police arrested 19-year-old Javon Pollard of Portsmouth for second degree murder, attempted robbery, unauthorized use of a firearm and felony hit and run, the latter of which was how VBPD tracked Pollard down.
On Monday, VBPD announced they had arrested a second suspect in Woodhouse's homicide. They arrested 18-year-old Aarion Hopkins of Chesapeake on Nov. 21 and charged him with first degree murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, attempted robbery and conspiracy.
Pollard's second degree murder charge was upgraded to first degree as well, and he also now faces a conspiracy charge.
