NORFOLK, Va. — TSA officers at Norfolk International Airport (ORF) have a reminder for travelers: do not bring your gun through security!
Officers stopped a Hampton man from bringing a loaded gun in his carry-on luggage on Monday. This is now the 34th gun found at the airport this year, which is well above the previous record of 29 guns set in 2023.
Remember, if you want to fly with a gun, it must be properly stored and declared at the airline ticket counter. Otherwise, you could face criminal charges and be ordered to pay a hefty fine.
TSA has more details on how to properly travel with a gun on its website. If you have further questions, you can contact the airline you are traveling with for any additional requirements on traveling with guns and ammunition.
