The 34-year-old suspect also broke into another business earlier in the night, police say.

HAMPTON, Va. — The Hampton Police Division has identified the man arrested after an hours-long barricade Friday and revealed the man is also charged in a burglary at another business earlier in the day.

Police say Kenneth Jones, 34, of Hampton, has been charged with one count of burglary, three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, three counts of grand larceny, one count of destruction of property and one count of obstruction in connection with the barricade situation at Superior Pawn and Gun, according to a Hampton Police Division press release.

Hampton officers had been called to the pawn shop in the 100 block of West Mercury Boulevard in relation to a burglary at about 6:34 a.m. Friday. They saw an individual with a firearm on the roof of the business, who then retreated and barricaded himself inside.
