NORFOLK, Va. — As severe weather sweeps through Virginia and North Carolina on Tuesday, many are seeing the impacts.
From power outages to fallen trees and flooding, the heavy rain and strong winds are causing problems across the region.
The threat of strong to severe thunderstorms worsens into the later hours, with many areas, including Norfolk, Chesapeake and Newport News, under a severe thunderstorm warning.
The National Weather Service placed Hampton Roads and several northeast North Carolina counties under a tornado watch until 9 p.m.
