NORFOLK, Va. — We had a break from the high humidity on Tuesday, but the relief will be short-lived as heat and humidity are set to return on Wednesday.
Southwest winds will push the heat and humidity back into Hampton Roads overnight and tomorrow. Afternoon temperatures will climb back to the upper 90s, flirting with 100°. Combined with the increased humidity, feels-like temperatures will soar back into the triple digits.

Records at regional observation stations will be at risk: Norfolk's record for June 26 is 100 degrees, Williamsburg is 104 degrees, and Elizabeth City is 101 degrees. All three records were set in 1952.
The hot weather is expected once again this weekend as another heat dome sets up and expands across the southeast U.S. High temperatures will again be in the middle 90s.
