Before embarking on that outdoor adventure make it a priority at the top of your checklist to be informed of the latest weather forecast, and any changes that could impact your plans. If there is severe weather in the forecast try and plan around it, go before the rough weather arrives or wait it out until it passes.

Technology enables us these days to always stay connected. Be sure to have a reliable source for updated weather information available for you to check anytime, anywhere. A great resource for this is the 13News Now app! It's also very important to set up several different ways that you can get alerted to severe weather warnings.

This is straightforward advice. Even though it may be very inconvenient to find an alternate route home it sure does beat having to get your car towed out of flood waters and make an insurance claim.

It's always best to be indoors when seeking shelter from severe weather. Outdoors there is no real 100% safe place to be. Plan accordingly during this severe weather season to make sure you aren't caught in the elements without warning!
