NORFOLK, Va. — Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and while you're figuring out what else you still need to grab from the grocery store, you may or may not be thinking about the weather.
I pushed aside the thawing turkey and took a deep dive into the record books to talk about some of the extremes that we've seen here in Hampton Roads for Thanksgiving.
Our warmest Thanksgiving was back in 1985 and we had a high temperature of 80 degrees.
What about the coldest? Well, that was in 1930 when we had a temperature of 25 degrees.
Now, we oftentimes see rain as we go into Thanksgiving, and our wettest Thanksgiving ever was back in 1992 when we picked up nearly two inches of rain.
And believe it or not, we can have snow on Thanksgiving. Our snowiest Thanksgiving had not much snow, only a half inch back in 1912.
