NORFOLK, Va. — With low pressure off the southeast US coast, and high pressure building to the north-northwest, winds will be increasing across Hampton Roads and coastal North Carolina Monday night and Tuesday.
As the winds blow in from the northeast, water levels will increase in the lower part of the Chesapeake Bay and along the ocean side of the Outer Banks.
While water levels were elevated early Monday morning, levels should become high enough for minor tidal flooding with the Tuesday morning high tide cycle.
Right now, tide models indicate tide levels may be a bit lower with the late-day tide cycle on Tuesday. But look for levels to be higher on Wednesday morning.
