NORFOLK, Va. — We have reached the final month of the year; winter is only 19 days away and it sure is feeling like it across Hampton Roads!
A weak disturbance will pass through Monday morning, bringing a low risk of a stray before sunrise. This weak system will also pull a reinforcing shot of cooler air in the region to start the work week.
Temperatures will remain well below average on Monday. Morning temperatures will fall to the upper 20s inland and middle 30s around the coast. High temperatures will only rise to the lower 40s, but with that northwest breeze, it's going to feel like the middle 30s.
Highs on Monday will be about 15-20° below our average of 58°.
Despite the cold air, sunshine will be plentiful on Monday and throughout the week.
Throughout the week, temperatures will remain below average, but on Thursday temperatures will climb into the middle 50s as high pressure slides offshore. That high pressure will make way for our next, strong cold front that will bring another shot of cold air into the area for the end of the workweek and into next weekend.
When all is said and done, Norfolk could see a stretch of 12 to 13 days with below-average highs! Bundle up!
