KITTY HAWK -- On Sunday, beachgoers found the once Tropical Storm Ana to be a breeze.

Some told 13News Now they almost didn't visit the beach because of the system which was downgraded to a tropical depression after it made landfall near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

"It's been beautiful. I hope the next week is just as good," said Sue Harpine, who spent a lot of time on the porch with her family watching the waves. "It did start clouding up. We had a shower, but it wasn't bad. The wind didn't even get up today."

Terri Sanderlin said it was a great place to spend Mother's Day.

"We drove our Durango for the first time on the beach," she explained. "We didn't fish or anything. We just hung out."

Some families, including the Johnsons, took to the beach to have fun when the rain died down.

"The skies pretty much cleared out, so it's pretty nice," said Emily Reingardte.

Although Ana just brought a drizzle Sunday, the storm was expected to bring downpours across the Outer Banks Monday.
