Delta temporarily suspends service at Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport

Delta Airlines is temporarily suspending all flights to and from the airport, beginning Wednesday, May 13.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — The Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport (PHF) suffered a huge blow on Friday.

Delta Airlines is temporarily suspending all flights to and from the airport, beginning Wednesday, May 13.

The CARES Act lets an airline do that if it serves more than one airport in an area. In this case, Delta also flies in and out of Norfolk International Airport.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Delta was flying from Newport News to Atlanta three times a day.
