NORFOLK, Va. — The eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 have reopened Monday night following a car fire, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
In a social media post at 7 p.m., VDOT said two eastbound lanes and the exit ramp were shut down near Norview Avenue. Nearly two hours later, the department announced the scene had cleared.
Video provided by a 13News Now viewer shows large flames and thick smoke coming from a vehicle near Exit 279.
A spokesperson for Virginia State Police told 13News Now that no one was injured.
There's no word on what caused the fire.
