VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A boating incident shut down Pungo Ferry Road at the Pungo Ferry Bridge for a period of time on Friday afternoon.
The bridge has since reopened after engineers checked the bridge for structural damage and determined that it is safe for use.
As of 3:56 p.m., the City of Virginia Beach is working to reopen the bridge to traffic.
13News Now has reached out to the Coast Guard for more details on the boating incident. We are waiting to hear back.
