NORFOLK, Va. — A woman died in a car crash on Lynnhaven Parkway near Salem Road Saturday evening, according to Virginia Beach Police.
The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. when the driver of a Honda Civic was turning left onto Lynnhaven Parkway, and hit the driver-side door of a Chevrolet Equinox in a T-bone-crash.
The Chevrolet was pushed into the median and hit a tree, and the driver, 65-year-old Mary Foley, was killed. She wasn't wearing a seat belt.
A child who was in Foley's car was taken to Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital with serious injuries. Police didn't say how old he or she was.
A third car was damaged by debris from the crash, but that driver wasn't hurt.
Monday, police said the Honda's driver, 31-year-old Qingyuan Liu, was given a summons for failure to yield the right of way while making a left turn. He wasn't hurt in the crash.
