Woman dies after motorcycle crash in Suffolk

The crash happened in the 6400 block of College Drive around 7:30 p.m., according to a Suffolk Police Department spokeswoman.

SUFFOLK, Va. — Police say a woman died after a motorcycle crash in Suffolk Saturday evening.

The crash happened in the 6400 block of College Drive around 7:30 p.m., according to Suffolk Police Department spokeswoman Mandy Bartholomew.

Officers who responded to 911 calls about the crash found an injured woman, who had lost control of the motorcycle she was operating. She was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.

On the Tuesday, following the crash, police revealed the driver was 28-year-old Ashlyn Baker of Chesapeake.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, Bartholomew said.

The accident is still under investigation.
