Motorcyclist killed in weekend crash on Granby Street in Norfolk

Police say a car and a motorcycle were involved in a crash, and that the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk police say a man has died early Sunday morning in a serious crash on Granby Street.

Emergency dispatchers received a report of the crash just after 5 a.m., according to a post on social media by the Norfolk Police Department (NPD).

It happened in the 7200 block of Granby Street. Based on a preliminary investigation, police said a motorcycle was traveling southbound on Granby when it crashed into a sedan that was making a turn.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not been publicly identified, pending notification of next-of-kin.
