MIDDLESEX COUNTY, Va. — A man died late Saturday night when he crashed his motorcycle while riding in Middlesex County.
According to a spokesperson for Virginia State Police, they responded to a report of a crash at the intersection of Burrells Marina Road and Route 602/Old Virginia Street at around 11:40 p.m. Once on scene, they found 46-year-old Ulysses Wise, Jr. of Mattaponi had died there as a result of injuries he received in the crash.
The police investigation determined that Wise was traveling at a high rate of speed on Burrells Marina Road, failed to stop at the posted stop sign, and continued into the intersection, at which point he lost control, struck a VDOT sign, then a tree, and was thrown off the motorcycle.
