SUFFOLK, Va. — A driver has been charged with driving under the influence after a crash on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel Tuesday morning.
The Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel Director of Operations, Edward Spencer said that a northbound vehicle had struck a crash cushion protecting a maintenance lane closure at the North Channel Bridge around 2:35 a.m. Lanes reopened just before 5:00 a.m.
The crash closed northbound traffic for around 2 hours while the scene was cleared.
The driver of the crashed vehicle has been charged with driving under the influence.
