NORFOLK, Va. — Residents in Hampton Roads have been affected by the Spectrum power outages following Hurricane Helene.

The outage has been connected to damage to a major hub in South Carolina and to one of their major fiber optic lines, according to the town of Smithfield.

According to DownDetector, Suffolk and Hampton were on the list of most reported locations.

However, officials said the internet outage in Suffolk has been restored as of 1:50 p.m. Saturday. Officials in the Town of Smithfield also confirmed their internet service had been restored.

The Suffolk Police Department said the Spectrum outage was impacting the non-emergency phone lines. Officials said residents should call Suffolk Emergency Communications for non-emergency matters at 757-925-1446. SPD said the number should not be used to inquire about the Spectrum outage.
