Millions of Verizon customer in Northeast, including Virginia, experience outage, network fully restored

Millions of Verizon Fio customers reported issues with their internet service starting very early Tuesday, according to an online outage tracker.

NORFOLK, Va. — Verizon has restored internet service after millions of customers reported issues on Tuesday.

The outage left millions of people without the internet. According to Downdetector, a spike in reports started shortly after midnight. 

Customers reported problems with 5G home internet, landline internet and total blackouts.

A Verizon representative says that the network has been fully restored.

"A network issue early this morning disrupted service for some Verizon Fios customers in the Northeast for a short period of time," a Verizon spokesperson told 13News Now. "As soon as the issue was identified, our engineering teams quickly restored the service."
