Chesapeake's Holloway cruises into men's 110m hurdle finals at the Paris Olympics

Grant Holloway made it look easy winning his men's 110m hurdle semifinal run. The 26-year-old now heads into Thursday's finals.

PARIS, France — Grant Holloway's mission for his first Olympic gold took a step closer on Wednesday. 

The Chesapeake native dusted the field in the men's 110-meter hurdle in a time of 12.98 seconds. He ran the only sub-13 seconds in either of the semifinal heats.

The Grassfield High product beat out Enrique Llopis of Spain who came in second (13.17). Hansle Parchmant of Jamaica, who won gold over Holloway in the Tokyo Games, took third (13.19).

Fellow Americans Freddie Crittenden finished second in the other semifinal heat with a time of 13.23 seconds and Daniel Roberts (13.10) also advanced to Thursday's finals.
