Norfolk Admirals sign Head Coach Jeff Carr to multi- year contract

Carr and the Admirals went 41-21-6-1 and advanced to the second round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs last season.

NORFOLK, Va. — The Norfolk Admirals announced on Tuesday the multi- year contract extension of general manager and head coach Jeff Carr. The Admirals finished with a 43-point difference between the 2022-23 season (46) and the 2023-24 season (89) under Carr’s time as head coach thus far.

Carr was named the Admirals’ Assistant Coach in August 2022 and was promoted to head coach three months later.

This season Carr, 39, led the Admirals to the playoffs last season with 41 wins and 89 points, which was second in the North Division. Norfolk defeated the Trois-Rivieres Lions in six games in-route in the North Division Finals, where they later fell to the Adirondack Thunder.

The news comes along with other new developments from the club. Yesterday, the Admirals announced they have signed defenseman Josh McDougall for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Back in June, the Winnipeg Jets and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Manitoba Moose, announced they have extended their partnership with the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals for the 2024-25 season.

Details on Carr's new deal have not yet been disclosed. Norfolk will open next season Oct. 18 against the Adirondack Thunder.
