Ali Jenning's Virginia Tech career couldn't have started much better. The former Old Dominion Monarch scored two touchdowns in the Hokies opener, leading his new team over his old team.
The good times wouldn't last, however, as Jennings was hurt in the Hokie's first series of their second game against Purdue. Tech lost to the Boilermakers along with their next two games, the offense struggled and Jennings was out indefinitely.
As Jennings rehabbed in Blacksburg, Kyron Drones took control of the offense and the Hokies began to the right the ship. This afternoon the promise of his Hokie career was re-ignited with an announcement on X that he'll be returning for his 6th year, using a medical redshirt.
Jennings announcement coincided with news that the rest of the young receiving corps will all be returning to Brent Pry's squad. Former Norfolk State Spartan Daquan Felton, Jaylin Lane and Stephen Gosnell will all be back in Blacksburg next year alongside Jennings. With Drones back as well, the Hokies could have one of the most explosive offenses in the ACC.
Jennings starred for two season at ODU before transferring to Tech last offseason. He was first team All Sun Belt in 2022 while averaging 106.6 receiving yards per game, good for 3rd in the country. The Highland Springs alum spent his first two season at West Virginia.
