NORFOLK, Va. — Jake Wood's first practice is approaching the stuff of legend. The 25 year old Canadian came to the Admirals two weeks into training camp, and made a quick first impression. In his very first scrimmage he "ran 5 or 6 guys through the wall". Which may not be that abnormal when fighting for a roster spot in a physical sport...until you realize Jake Wood is 5'6".
Despite his size, Wood his a fighter. He's fought guys 9 inches taller than he is. He's fought to become a professional hockey player, the game his father and grandfather loved and taught him. And now he's fighting for the Norfolk Admirals as they make a playoff push.
