POQUOSON, Va. — It's among the best sports clichés that we've got.
"Big time players make big time plays in big time games."
Last Friday was a big time game for the Poquoson Bull Islanders. They faced off with fellow unbeaten Bay Rivers District contender Bruton at home on senior night. Then Bruton took the opening kickoff to the house for a touchdown.
Dylan Bullard hadn't scored a touchdown of his own all season.
By the end of the game Bullard had more touchdowns in the game than the entire Bruton team.
Two interceptions, one a pick 6, and a startling touchdown reception for the run heavy Islanders. By the end of the game the scoreboard read 42-6 and Bullard had submitted a number of those big time plays.
"He had a great night, great senior night for him. This is one of those he'll never forget," said Poquoson head coach Elliott Duty.
