Norfolk State has been hit with key several injuries as they get ready to face Towson at home on Saturday.

NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk State is not where they'd like to be right now. Currently 2-5 and having lost three of their last four games, they've now been hit with recent injuries.

The latest coming at the position of quarterback. Head coach Dawson Odums announcing that quarterback Jalen Daniels suffered a "head injury" their 10-3 loss to Sacred Heart. He's considered day to day as they get ready for their home game Saturday at Towson.

"I think that we've been plagued with a lot of different factors this year", he said at his weekly press conference. "Injuries being one and a difficult eight game schedule".

Unfortunately they can't go to the previous starter in Otto Kuntz who Daniels beat out for the job. Kuntz was out for the first four games due to a suspension. Today it was announced he's had recent back surgery.

"The surgery went well", said Odums who talked about Kuntz still having a red-shirt year remaining. "Hopefully he'll have a speedy recovery".

The Spartans will now go with freshman Vinson Berry when they face the Tigers.
