A light schedule of area high school football took place on the peninsula on Thursday night. Among the winners, Poquoson stayed perfect as they blanked New Kent 28-0. Cody Little ran for three scores as the Islanders (8-0) next play fellow unbeaten Bruton (8-0) who held off York 9-6.
In the Peninsula District, Bethel (5-3) got two first half touchdowns from quarterback Derek Fisher as they finished with a strong second half and cruised past Denbigh 70-14. Smithfield won 31-21.
