Despite 55 shots on goal, the Admirals lose a heartbreaker to the Thunder in overtime 2-1

Norfolk outshot Adirondack 55-29 in the game in the loss, but still leads the series 2-1. Game four is Friday at 7:05pm from Scope.

NORFOLK, Va. — In a game that saw the Admirals nearly double Adirondack in shots on goal (55-29), Norfolk came up short losing a tough 2-1 overtime game Wednesday night in their return home for game three of the North Division Finals.

Fans enjoyed the "White Out" effect as the Admirals returned home to Scope after taking the first two games of the best of seven series with the Thunder. Adirondack was on the board in the first period with a goal from Erik Middendorf for an early 1-0 lead.

Norfolk would counter at 13:25 of the second period when Simon Kubicek found the back of the net to deadlocked the game at 1-1. It would go into overtime where Thunder goalie Isaac Poulter continued to shutdown Norfolk to the tune of 54 saves. Teammate Ryan Smith got the game winner with 1:41 left in OT.

The series continues with game four on Friday from Norfolk Scope at 7:05pm.
