NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — After 24 seasons as Woodside High School's football coach, Danny Dodson felt it was time to resign. When Hampton High School legendary coach Mike Smith stepped down after 51 seasons, Dodson was the most tenured football coach in the Peninsula District.
He fared well with the Wolverines guiding them to 158 wins to go with 3 region titles. Woodside would win the Peninsula District in 2011.
