HAMPTON, Va. — One of the most prolific drivers in the sports of NASCAR will be coming to Hampton Roads later this summer.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be racing in the 16th annual Hampton Heat 200 from Langley Speedway on July 20.
Earnhardt Jr. competed from 1999 to 2017 racking up 631 starts, 26 wins and 15 poles. Ten of his 26 Cup victories came at Daytona and Talladega, including Daytona 500 wins in 2004 and 2014.
He retired from full time racing in 2017. When he races at Langley later this month, he'll be competing in a field of more than 300 drivers.
The Hampton Heat Race is the marquee event at the track annually and draws sellout crowds of over 6,000.
