NORFOLK, Va. — It was a special homecoming for North Carolina State guard Aziaha James. Her 3rd ranked Wolfpack (12-0) took care of business Wednesday against Old Dominion 87-50 before family and friends.
James helped lead Princess Anne High School to four straight state titles and has been a difference maker for the Wolfpack this season. The junior had 16 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists in their win over the Monarchs.
She feels she's come a long way since her days in high school as a Cavalier.
"I see myself coming very far", she says. "Just playing for my team and not myself. Stuff like that. Just embracing every moment that we take in so I've come a long way."
When it came to getting a large number of family and friends into the game at Chartway Arena to see her, tickets were at a premium.
"I had to get tickets from everybody", she said. "Just by them helping out, it was great feeling for me."
N.C. State next faces Virginia on the road December 31st.
